We are having a DT Call!! Scrap-friendzy is such a fun, active place to hang out and we are always having a blast, so if you'd like to join our team- here's your chance!!

Scrap-Friendzy is a challenge based site with a laid-back, friendly environment where everyone is welcome! We focus on inspiring and encouraging our members, as well as, teaching new techniques to take our scrapbooking & paper crafting to the next level!

If you are a kind, energetic paper crafter that enjoys inspiring, encouraging and educating others in our craft, then this might be the perfect place for you!

Chosen DT members will be responsible for daily posting on the message board, creating at least 2 challenges per month for our members, as well as participating in the challenges created by other design team members, and promoting, organizing and hosting events throughout their term. In return, we will promote your work, blog, etc through our site, blog and facebook page, and you will also receive a special kit full of fun scrappy goodies!

The call runs Sunday, January 29th through Sunday, February 19th.

This call is for a 6 month term beginning March 1,2012 through August 31,2012.

Meet our Girlfriend of the Month for January

Tricia!!!

Hello from Indiana! My name is Tricia and I am mother to three little people ages 7, 9, and 13. I have been married for 17 years to a wonderful, hardworking man who lets me buy whatever scrapbooking goodies I want, whenever I want. I have been scrapbooking for 14 years now. What started out as a hobby has quickly grown to an obsession. Layouts, cards, albums, altered items: nothing is safe around me!

If I am in my crafting place, everyone knows I should not be bothered. Scrapbooking is my way of leaving a legacy for my family. By writing down my memories, I am sure that my children can pass on our traditions, our life, and our history to their families.

Here are a few of the wonderful creations Tricia has created.

Meet our Scrap Friendzy Girlfriend of the Month Jean!!!

Many of you will recognize me since I am a DT alum. I continue to scrap even though my kids are 28 and 23! Many of you know my daughter is in her last year of grad school and in May will have her PhD. My son graduated from college in May and found his dream job in computers in town near us. Having them far apart makes it difficult for me but Rob is good hearted about letting me carry on traditions such as dyeing Easter Eggs and pumpkin hunting. I love SF because of the friendship and scrapping challenges. There is always someone to talk to! The challenges make me think outside the box. This is a wonderful place and I am honored to be GOTM.

How can it possibly be December already?!?! It seems like just yesterday I was still getting used to writing 2011 when I dated things and now it's almost time for me to start writing 2012. Sheesh, I must have blinked or something.

As we enter into December we know that it can be a very busy and hectic time for everyone so all of us at Scrap-Friendzy decided to make things super easy on everyone this month when it comes to our challengez. All of our challengez this month will be simply to use up a certain product in your stash. Easy peasy right? And one of the best parts is it will make room for all those goodies some of you might receive as gifts during this holiday season. Make sure you read each challenge post carefully though to see if the challenger required a certain amount of that product to be used. And don't forget to upload your completed projectz into the SF gallery and link them back to the appropriate challenge thread. The SF DT can't wait to see all the wonderful creationz you guys create while "Scraping Your Stash"!

Wow, what a crazy fun weekend celebrating Scrap Friendzy's birthday!! We've got a lot of game winners being announced over at the forum so make sure to check and see if you were one of the lucky winners. Yep you heard right. Scrap-Friendzy is turning four. And what better way to celebrate than with a crop, of course. Amy, Cheryl and the rest of the Design team would like to invite you to come crop with us.

Crop challenges and games will be posted Saturday, October 1st. You will have until midnight CST on Sunday, October 2nd to complete the crop games. However you have until midnight CST Friday October 7th to get the challenges completed, posted and linked. Each completed challenge will get you an entry for the crop prize. But that's not all...there will be several RAKs up for grabs this weekend so make sure you come and play.

But don't wait until Saturday, come by the message board and sign-up for Bingo and the pre-crop challenge (the Birthday Bash forum will be up soon).

It's a new month and with that comes a new theme for our monthly challenges here at Scrap Friendzy. This month we will be channeling our inner design star and basing our challenges on HGTV's show "Design Star".

This month we are throwing in a special twist. There will be four small prizes given away throughout the month. Each Monday (beginning with the 12th) a design team member will be drawing a winner to receive one of the mini prizes throughout the month. And it's so simple to be entered into the drawing. For each challenge you complete the week prior to that Monday and upload to the gallery and link to the appropriate thread gets you an entry. So the more challenges you complete that week, the more chances you have at that week's prize.

So we hope that our upcoming challenges will inspire you to channel your inner designer and encourage you to get your scrap on.

In the meantime, there were a couple of pre-Scrap U challenges posted! You can get your September calendar ready! Telah challenged us to alter a calendar so that we can have it ready to go for our Scrap U assignments! There was also another challenge where fashion could inspire your layout! Cheryl posted her "back-to-school" outfit, and then she did a layout inspired by the colors!! If you have some free time today, why not work on one of those awesome challenges!?!

Summer is drawing to a close. It's time again to buy those backpacks and pencil cases. Stores have all the latest back to school fashions and aisles full of school supplies. Yes, Fall is right around the corner and school is about to start again for another year. But, that doesn't have to be the end of our scrappy summer fun! No, Scrap-Friendzy is getting ready to open our doors to our first ever Scrap University! Enrollment will soon be open for all to attend Scrap U, where you will want to come to educate yourself in every scrappy way possible!

Beginning September 1st, Scrap U will be offering classes (challenges) in every subject that will also include lessons (tutorials) for you to learn. There will also be lots of extra credit assignments and after school activities that will not only keep you busy, but will also help you make the grade. At the end of September, grades will be calculated and we will decide who our class Valedictorian will be. Our Valedictorian will be the winner of a fun scrappy prize!!!!

So gather all your scrappy school supplies and get ready to register at Scrap U, the University where all the Scrappy Girlz go!

Hi! I'm SusieQ! I live in upstate New York! I'm the wife of almost 35 years to my high school sweetheart! I am the mother of 3 grown children, 2 boys and 1 girl. I have 4 grandsons and am still waiting for a granddaughter. I am extremely active in my church
and feel that without my faith I am nothing!
I did not start scrapping till my first grandson was 1 month old and that was exactly 9 years ago this month! June 2001! Boy has my scrapping changed since then! I create my pages around my photos generally ! I have been told my scrap style is eclectic! I just do what feels right to me! LOL! My favorite time to scrap is late at night, although hubby is not thrilled with that! I am also a decorative painter so I do both hobbies in the same craft area which can be interesting at times. I love to be inspired by challenges and I love deadlines because they make me get things done that I would otherwise put off! I am definetly a procastinator!!!

Hi Everyone!! This is Carol, and I'm very excited to be updating the Scrap-Friendzy blog for the first time!! I wanted to let you know what we've got going on for February!! Be sure to check out ALL of the February 2010 Challenges!!

Here's what the Design Team will be posting to challenge you this month:

On Mondays look for MONDAY MOTIVATION! This can be any type of challenge, including but not limited to a sketch, a recipe challenge, a scrap-lift, color combincation, etc. Its purpose is to inspire you!!

On Tuesdays look for TECHNIQUE TUESDAY! These will challenge you to use a specific technique on your creations! It could be painting, inking, embossing, stitching, etc. It's always fun to try a new technique!

On Wednesdays, we're getting crazy with WACKY WEDNESDAY!! This will be something silly but hopefully FUN! It might be a silly survey, a blog challenge, a wacky scrap challenge, etc. We hope you find it to be WACKY and FUN!

On Thursdays, we'll be posting TUTORIAL THURSDAY! The purpose of this is to teach something you might not already know. It will be detailed, and you'll have lots of step-by-step photos to check out! We hope you'll enjoy the tutorials!

On Fridays, we're featuring FOTO FRIDAY! This is all about photography! You'll be challenged to take a pic of a specific item, use a specific camera setting, post process your photo, etc. Once again, this is a fun day and it's dedicated to photography!!

ALL of the challenges have Friendz Pointz (FPZ) assigned to them! Keep track of your points in your February Gradebook, and at the end of the month, there will be a WINNER! We hope that you find February 2010 at Scrap-Friendzy to be FUN and INSPIRING!!

This term will be February through July.

What will be expected of you as a Design Team member?
-Board activity is very important, you will be expected to post on the message boards and comment on projects uploaded into the gallery daily.
-You will be required to come up with atleast 2 challenges every month. (During crops or special events, this number could increase.)
-When we host contests, crops or special events, you will be required to actively participate in the planning, promotion and hosting of the event.
-Promote our site wherever and whenever you can on your blogs, galleries, and wherever else it is permitted.
-Actively participate in challenges posted by other DT members.
-We are not a monthly kit club, but occasionaly, we offer kits. If you are asked to design with a kit, you will be required to complete atleast 3 pages and 1 card or altered project.

What's in it for you?
-First of all, there isn't a more friendly scrappy community on the net! Being a part of Scrap-Friendzy, you will: meet new people, gain new girlfriendz, learn new scrappy techniques, be challenged and greatly inspired!
-DT blinkie to post on your signatures and blog.
-If you are asked to design with a kit during your term, you will be given one for free!
-If a kit is not offered, you will be given a cool prize package at the end of your term!

My inspiration for this challenge came from some perfume I bought a few weeks ago. The box that it came in was soooo pretty, I couldn't bare to chunk it! So I cut it up and used it on a set of notecards! Here is my before & after:

Telah creatively took shopping bags that would normally be trashed, and used them to make adorable embellishments for her page! Here is her before and after:

Min, went dumpster divin' and came up with an egg carton and Capri-Suns to play with! She amazingly created a set of 3 cards with her trash! Here is her before and after:

Summer Survivor Challenge Deadline

I am sooooooooo excited to announce our Summer Event!!!! Beginning Monday, June 15 through August 15 we will be hosting:

Each week, we will be posting fun challenges & games that you can complete and earn FRIENDZ POINTZ! At the end of the Summer, the member with the most FPZ will win a cool prize & a DT Spot!! 2nd & 3rd places will be rewarded cool prizes too!!

Also, on Friday, June 19 we will start a "Inspiration Paradise Survivor" Game!! Every 2 weeks we will post a new Survivor Challenge, you will have 1 week to complete your entry for voting. Each week, scrappers will be eleminated leaving a sole Survivor at the end of the Summer! The winning survivor will be awarded a cool prize and a DT Spot!!

Can you believe March is ALREADY here?? Wow this year seems to be flying by! We are excited about the fun things planned for this month! Our DT will be posting their monthly challenges throughout this week, AND there will be special {Spring Forward} Challenges posted every week to get us in the mood for all things SPRING!!!
In addition to the normal daily fun around here, we'll also be starting a {Spring Forward} BINGO game!! The words will be posted today, and you will have until Friday, March 6 at midnight (cst) to pick and pm me your words!
We also have a huuuuuge surprise for you! We are not a "normal" monthly kit club, but since there are sooooo many cute new things coming out from CHA, we just HAD to pull a kit together.... but we had so much fun with the first one, that we decided to do 2!!!
